Shopping is Easy in the Big Easy

While news recently is about retailers like Sears and Macy's closing stores, New Orleans newcomer Pilot and Powell is already finding a way to turn heads. Although the store has only been open a few months, Vogue highlighted Pilot and Powell in it's list of The Coolest Stores of 2016 where they refer to the store as a "bright, spacious store" where you will see "an interesting mix of timeless and arty pieces."

The store opened it's doors on Magazine Street, which is a an eclectic haven for shoppers and foodies. In addition to it's classic New Orleans style architecture, Magazine Street is also known for locally owned places where you can go antiquing, eating and shopping.

From Charles Youssef to Joseph, Pilot and Powell carries an array of brands.

The co-owners of Pilot and Powell both come from the fashion industry. Coeli Hilferty Boron was a publicist for Faget Mignon and Kathryn Bullock Joyner was a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue and Mimi.

Coeli Hilferty Boron explains their target market to  Gambit magazine:

"There's an audience of ready and willing women who are eager to take risks,"

Kathryn Bullock Joyner shares their vision,

"We're creating an atmosphere of clothing and lifestyle products that capture the essence of New Orleans, but are more fashion-forward."

The Magazine Street Merchants association depicts the store as "approachable luxury" and "modern classics" And Pilot and Powell's website describes their store as "a high end retail space featuring a curated collection of cool, feminine, stylish clothing and accessories located in the heart of vibrant Magazine Street, New Orleans"

But don't just read everyone else's description of it. See for yourself!
